The primary task of the VP Marketing & Communications is to develop the marketing program for each of the IIMP’s primary customer segments and direct the actions to accomplish goals set forth in the program.  The VP is responsible for identifying primary segments and sub-segments (students, academics, governments and practitioners) and initiating a call to action for the most marketable groups.

 

The Marketing Team’s mandate is to be responsible for creating and executing the brand, marketing and communications strategy for IIMP®, supporting the membership, sponsorship, education experience and growth of IIMP®, its products and services. Reporting to the SVP Global Marketing and Communications, the Vice President of Marketing’s mandate is to empower and motivate the IIMP's team members to deliver on strategic initiatives including brand development, brand strategy, marketing strategy and Communications Strategy. Also, to provide strategic support in the ongoing administration of the Marketing Team, such as soliciting feedback and establishing regular updates, assessing exceptional contributions, and identifying new role requirements within the Marketing team.

 

Responsibilities:

1.       Meets regularly with each team as frequently as required to maintain a good understanding of progress against milestones.

2.       Provides regular updates and discussions as to the state of the team and the deliverables to the SVP Marketing and Communications, and proactively identifies solution options to resolve barriers to getting to end of tasks and avoid delays.

3.       Take ownership of all marketing related initiatives by enabling and empowering AVP, Directors and Managers to think strategically, and be the driving force for the CMMP Product Offerings.

4.       Engages in research, analysis and strategy planning utilizing strong analytical background to ensure Marketing Strategy rationale is fundamentally sound.

5.       Provides input to the budget preparation and forecasting for the Marketing operations which will be shared with the Executive for discussion and approval.

 

Experience/Skills Required:

1.       15+ years progressive leadership experience leading large teams, preferably in the Marketing or Communications field.

2.       Management and leadership skills to encourage, motivate, and guide team members in learning and delivering.

3.       Exceptional work ethics combined with a strong commitment to motivate and empower a group of high-energy, passionate and exceptionally talented group professionals.

4.       Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with multiple teams and committees at various levels (executives to junior) with multiple priorities.

5.       Demonstrated ability to be agile and innovative to achieve results quickly without compromising quality.

6.       Ability to establish and build healthy working relations and partnerships with Marketing team members, as well as peers in Education, Membership, Chapters, and Strategy.

7.       Self-starter, able to work independently and take ownership of projects  with a ‘roll up the sleeves’ attitude.

8.       Establishes and maintains high-trust, integrity and respect with all team members.

9.       Ability to manage deadlines while balancing multiple complex priorities.

10.    Strong organization, planning and time management skills.
